Bringing the Culinary World into the Classroom!

Mrs. Hall’s Foods classes and Mrs. Shaffer’s Hospitality & Tourism/ProStart classes partnered with community partner Dustin Rennells for a hands-on culinary learning experience!

Dustin brought his wealth of knowledge and experience from the culinary world into our classrooms with a demonstration focused on professional knife skills, techniques, and safety. Students had the opportunity to see firsthand how proper knife handling and cutting techniques are used in a professional kitchen.

We are so thankful for community partners like Dustin who take the time to share their expertise with our students and help connect what they are learning in the classroom to real-world culinary careers.

Thank you to our CHS Art Masters for sharing their creativity and talent by decorating the Chillicothe R-II Administrative Offices windows last week during Homecoming Week! The displays brought so much school spirit to our district offices, and we’re excited to make this a new tradition at Chillicothe R-II.

As a thank you, Dr. Dan Wiebers presented members of the Art Masters class - under the direction of Bekah Anderson - with a check to help fund a special trip for the group later this year.

Congratulations to Sophie Hurtgen and Cooper Robinson, your 2026 Chillicothe High School homecoming queen and king after a 34-20 Hornet victory over Cameron.

Chillicothe R-II Families & Community -

On Monday, September 21 at 1:00 PM, Chillicothe R-II staff will be conducting and participating in an Intruder Exercise at CES as part of our ongoing work to support school safety and preparedness.

During the exercise, you will see police and emergency vehicles at CES, but there is no emergency. This is a planned training.

Please also note: There is no school on Monday, September 21—it is a Planned Professional Development Day for staff.
