Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Thursday, October 22, from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Chillicothe High School gymnasium. Parent-teacher conferences are very important for each student who attends school in the Chillicothe R-II School District, regardless of grade level. Every student has an opportunity to benefit when their parents and teachers discuss their progress. Parent-teacher conferences allow teachers and parents to share important information about a student’s educational program and progress. Also, the parent can have direct input into their child’s academic progress by providing the teachers with information about the student and their activities at home.
Parents may expect the following at the parent-teacher conferences:
· Information regarding the student’s grades and academic progress.
· Information regarding the educational strengths of the student.
· Information regarding student needs for academic improvement.
· Suggestions for students’ educational goals for the immediate future.
· An explanation of course objectives and an indication of the student’s progress.
Student Test Scores & Progress:
While at CHS, our counselors will be available to share important testing information from last year, including:
- State-mandated test results (such as 8th-grade MAP scores and any End-of-Course / EOC scores)
- Results from last year's Mega Test Day, including Pre-ACT and ASVAB scores
Senior Parents:
For parents of high school seniors, you will receive an A+ Status sheet detailing where your student stands regarding the A+ Scholarship, as well as an update on your student's College & Career Readiness score.
College & Career Planning:
Mrs. Wolf will be on-site at her own table to answer any questions regarding your student's post-high school plans and available scholarship opportunities. Please make sure to stop by and visit her!

Congratulations to Kadence Clark and Alyssa Talbert; they were the R.A.K.E. award winners for today. They were identified as doing the following;

CHS History Club and Art Club teamed up for a cross-curricular field trip to the Renaissance Festival on October 10, and our students had a great time learning outside the classroom!
We’re also really proud to share that 32 of our 34 students earned FREE admission through the Scholars Program thanks to their amazing GPAs. Way to go! You’ve worked hard, and it shows!

Sophie Hurtgen-When a student accidently dropped a container of sharpies on the ground - sophie sprang into action to quickly help her clean them up.
Dewayene Yount- Dewayene helped a student get his stuff to class because he was running late. The student told him he could get his own bag, but Dewayene insisted and helped him to class, and a fellow senior student was struggling to fill out their order form from Jostens. He jumped right in and started helping him so he could have it completed by the deadline.

It’s Senior Night at the CHS home football game! Tonight, as we take on Moberly, we’re excited to recognize our CHS Senior Band members and the energy they bring to Friday nights. We're talking about you - Mason Eckert, Danika Harkins, Kaetlin Jenkins, Makaila Kennedy, Ava Lance, Izabella Leverett, Carlee Regan, and Kierra Williams!
Kickoff is at 7:00 PM—come out, fill the stands, and help us celebrate these seniors. Let’s show them how much our community appreciates their dedication and school spirit.

Learning comes alive at CHS - and so does community service!
Mrs. Wheeler and Mr. Constant’s U.S. History classes wrapped up their Roaring Twenties unit today with a “speakeasy” celebration… that was promptly busted up by Officer Hogan. Unfortunately for us, Officer Hogan does not accept bribes, and our carbonated contraband was officially confiscated! It was a fun, memorable way to reinforce learning and keep students engaged.
We also want to celebrate the incredible partnership between our students and community organizations. Xi Alpha Kappa (Chillicothe chapter) member Julie Barnes stopped by with muffins to thank our CHS Key Club students for volunteering to paint faces at Chautauqua. Julie shared how the face painting supports charity programs - and we’re proud to see our students using their time and talents to make a difference.
