New Attendance Award!
Attendance is the foundation of success—every day counts for learning and growth! We are excited to announce a weekly award for the classroom with the best attendance at each grade level (Kindergarten through 5th)! Each winning class will proudly display an Attendance magnet on their classroom doorway, celebrating their dedication to being present and ready to learn.
We also want to thank parents for making education a priority and supporting their students' learning journey. Together, we can continue to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive at CES!

Our latest "Perfect Penmanship Award" goes to Baylor Marriott!

Next week, CES will complete winter benchmarks in iReady math and reading. To celebrate students’ best efforts, the CES Student Leadership Team organized a holiday dance party, promoting it in all 38 classrooms. With a disco ball hung by Mr. Marty, we’re excited for a fun celebration to reward our students’ hard work!

A “TREE”-mendous thank you to Amanda Shaw for her dedication and creativity! For the past three years, she has beautifully decorated a tree for our elementary students and staff to enjoy. We are so grateful for the incredible parental support we have here at CES!

The wheels were going round and round on the ABC Wagon this week! Way to grow kindergartners!!

“Let Your Kind Shine”
Kindness is everywhere at CES! The three recipients of this week's awards were nominated by a teacher or staff member for showing exceptional kindness. They received a sunshine bag and the opportunity to sit in the yellow sunshine chair over the next week to promote kindness throughout CES!
Jaxon Swindell (Mrs. Ewbank’s Kindergarten)
Jaxon is very helpful in our classroom. If a friend needs help or is hurting, he is quick to offer help, share a smile and a hug. He loves helping other students in our classroom with their work, picking up their belongings if they spill, and also helps with zipping coats while we get ready for recess. I love watching Jaxon's kind light shine throughout the day and appreciate his hugs and help as well.
Tempest Seaman (Mrs. Schneider’s 3rd Grade)
Tempest is a good friend to anyone she meets. She is quick to include others and always delighted to help. She cares about everyone's feelings and loves to make those around her smile!
Wayne Longo (Mrs. Gilliland’s 5th Grade)
Wayne is a hard worker. He does his work and also checks on friends near him to see if they need help. He is always kind and friendly and willing to help teachers or peers.

This week, we enjoyed two outstanding performances: the 5th Grade’s “Home Alone” and the 1st Grade’s “Candy Adventure.” A huge thank you to Mrs. Lauhoff, our talented music teacher, for her hard work and dedication in bringing these shows to life. Great job to all the students and staff who made these performances a success!

We had fun at lunch with a "Turkey Bowl." Congratulations to Kim Kimbrough for winning the frozen turkey! 🦃🎳

Even MORE Hornet High Fives (putting up chairs, helping out in cafeteria, checking over work twice) and Goal Getters (math missions completed, mastering snap words) at CES!

Tatiana Mathews (Miss Snyder’s 1st Grade)
Tatiana is always eager to lend a helping hand. She notices where there is a need and helps without being asked. She always comes to school with a smile on her face and is eager to learn.
Emma Tan (Mrs. Howe’s 2nd Grade)
Emma is always doing the right thing in class. She is a teacher's dream student, making a teacher's job easier! She does what is asked the first time ALWAYS and is a role model in and outside of the classroom. She is always willing to help a lending hand to a teacher or another student. When the winner of the second grade representative was announced, she cheered them on and smiled even though she was not the winner! That is true kindness right there! She is a kind, hardworking, and amazing kiddo!
Emmett Jeffries (Mrs. Dodson’s 4th Grade)
Student is always helping out others and going out of his way to make other students feel included in the school system. My students always feel better when Emmett jokes around with them, or helps them complete a difficult task. He makes everyone's day!
