January's Hard Working Hornets in PE/Health!

Goal Getters at CES!!!

Amy Albertson, a nutritionist with the University of Missouri Extension, is visiting our first-grade classrooms to teach students about healthy eating habits. Today was an exciting food-tasting day, giving students a chance to explore nutritious choices in a fun and engaging way!

We love celebrating great news with our CES families! Today, 40 students were recognized for their leadership, growth, kindness, and hard work. Mrs. Cox and each student called home to share their achievements. Keep it up, CES leaders!

Our kindergarten and first-grade students have been working hard in PE/Health to master the skill of tying their shoes! Once they successfully tie their shoes, they earn a new pair of shoelaces and a spot on the “Shoe Tie Train” wall to celebrate their achievement.

Our 5th graders are excited to start their ukulele journey in music class! They’re learning basic chords, strumming techniques, and how to play simple songs. It’s a great way to build musical skills and have fun making music together!

🏈 Super Bowl Spirit Week at CES! 🏈 Let’s show our excitement and team spirit all week long!

A key foundation for kindergartners is learning to identify both uppercase and lowercase letters, along with their corresponding sounds. This week’s ABC Wagon Riders have mastered their alphabet and are rolling toward success!

Our amazing goal-getters this week are crushing it—boosting their oral reading fluency, acing Fab Five and Edulastic math tests, and mastering snap words! Keep up the great work!

“Being a Leader,” “Staying Quiet in the Hallway,” and “Working Hard in Class”—meet our overall Hornet High Five winners for the week!

Today at CES, we celebrated National Handwriting Day! Students who demonstrated neat handwriting in either print or cursive during class were recognized with a special visit to the office. 📝
