This week has been full of festive fun and hard work! Student Santa letters, watching “Havoc” the Elf create mischief, practicing recorders, and tackling winter benchmarks with determination. Joy and learning are everywhere!
A heartfelt thank you to our amazing PTO parents for Decking the Halls and our cafeteria with festive holiday decorations! The joy and excitement on our students’ faces during breakfast and lunch today were priceless. Your efforts truly brought the holiday spirit to life. We can’t wait to keep the celebration going with our Jingle and Grow Dance Party next Wednesday! Thank you for all you do to make our school so special!

This week, we celebrated students for their outstanding efforts—whether it was improving test scores, showing kindness by sharing with a friend, helping their classmates by putting down chairs, or stepping up as leaders. These amazing actions deserve a moment to shine, and we’re thrilled to share the good news!

Terrific Kids for December “Responsible”
Miss Teeter and Mrs. Reeter’s Kindergarteners embraced their inner Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles during a fun and engaging fitness activity in physical education class! Students trained by jumping and earning small turtle rewards based on their performance. Those who achieved 21 or more jumps proudly received the coveted Master Splinter turtle, symbolizing their dedication and effort. Meanwhile, in first grade, Mrs. Bonderer and Mrs. Howard’s students embarked on their journey to become skilled Ninjas. Using jump ropes, they showcased their stamina and agility, earning colorful “ninja rank” bracelets based on consecutive jumps. The ultimate achievement—a black belt bracelet—was awarded to students who completed 50 or more jumps without stopping, celebrating their determination and skill. Both activities inspired teamwork, perseverance, and a love for fitness in a creative and exciting way!
CES Holly Jolly Dress-Up Days!
This evening, our 3rd graders presented The Incredible Reindeer, a delightful and festive holiday performance filled with familiar songs perfect for singing along. A heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Lauhoff for her creativity and dedication in writing and preparing all of our holiday programs. Kudos to our talented students for bringing joy to our CES families with this wonderful celebration of the season!
New Attendance Award!
Attendance is the foundation of success—every day counts for learning and growth! We are excited to announce a weekly award for the classroom with the best attendance at each grade level (Kindergarten through 5th)! Each winning class will proudly display an Attendance magnet on their classroom doorway, celebrating their dedication to being present and ready to learn.
We also want to thank parents for making education a priority and supporting their students' learning journey. Together, we can continue to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive at CES!

Next week, CES will complete winter benchmarks in iReady math and reading. To celebrate students’ best efforts, the CES Student Leadership Team organized a holiday dance party, promoting it in all 38 classrooms. With a disco ball hung by Mr. Marty, we’re excited for a fun celebration to reward our students’ hard work!
A “TREE”-mendous thank you to Amanda Shaw for her dedication and creativity! For the past three years, she has beautifully decorated a tree for our elementary students and staff to enjoy. We are so grateful for the incredible parental support we have here at CES!
