Beautiful artwork!!!

Our K-5th grade students are shining on their spring i-Ready assessments! It’s incredible to see the growth they’ve made since the beginning of the year. Pictured are just a few of our hardworking learners, including some lucky prize winners whose tickets were drawn for giving their best effort on the tests. We’re so proud of their dedication and progress! Next week, our 3rd–5th grade students will begin taking their MAP Reading/ELA tests. We know they’ll continue to show what they know and make CES proud!

Chillicothe Elementary School kicked off spring break with a fun-filled staff Easter egg hunt! The morning began with a special surprise as Bunny Bill greeted students at arrival, spreading smiles and spring cheer throughout the building.
We hope all of our CES families enjoy a relaxing and refreshing spring break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on April 22nd as we gear up to finish strong during the final four weeks of the 2024-25 school year

It’s our final Hornet Hive Spirit Shop pop-up of the school year at CES!
Throughout the 2024-2025 school year, our incredible PTO has shared Hornet pride with over 750 students, spreading spirit and smiles across our school.
A special shout out to Shannon Mason, PTO executive member, for turning this dream into a reality and helping every Hornet feel a part of something special.
Thank you for filling our halls, school, and community with spirit, pride, and unity—Go Hornets!

Today marks our final Warrior Wednesday of the 2024-2025 school year!
A huge thank you to Mrs. Kim Taylor for her dedication in organizing and promoting patriotism at CES all year long.
From red, white, and blue spirit to honoring those who serve, you’ve helped our Hornets show their pride in meaningful ways.
Way to go, CES—patriotism lives strong in our hallways thanks to you!

Congratulations to our outstanding CES students who were honored this evening by the American Legion for their powerful essays!
This year’s theme—“What Does America the Beautiful Mean to Me Regarding Our Veterans and Military?”—inspired heartfelt reflections from our young writers.
We’re proud to celebrate our 4th grade winners: Emmett Jeffries, Clara Kerr and Hadlee Beck, and our 5th grade winner: Harlow Rardon.
Way to represent, patriotic Hornets! Your voices proudly honor those who serve.

We’re “egg-cited” to welcome some fluffy new friends to CES! So far, seven baby chicks have hatched and are officially part of our school flock. Chirps and cheers all around!

🌟 Reminder! 🌟 Chillicothe R-II Schools will have an early dismissal on Thursday, April 17th. There will be no school on Friday, April 18th, and Monday, April 21st for Spring Break. Enjoy the time off! 🌼📚 #ChillicotheSchools #SpringBreak

Our kindergarten and 1st grade students had an “eggs-tra” special morning thanks to a fun-filled egg hunt hosted by our high school National Honor Society and Hornet Academy! Huge thanks to our amazing visitors for making it such a memorable day!

April 16th marks our final "Warrior Wednesday!"
Show your support for our military and emergency responders by wearing red, white, and blue or camo. Let’s end strong and honor our heroes together! 🇺🇸

CES was excited to welcome the Class of 2038 for Kindergarten Orientation!
Our future Hornets explored their new school, met their amazing teachers, and got a sneak peek at all the fun and learning that’s ahead. We can’t wait to watch them grow and shine at CES!

Our 3rd graders are hard at work creating robotic hands! As part of their lesson, they’re learning how tendons and ligaments help our real hands open and close. It’s a hands-on way to explore both science and engineering.
Thank you, Coach Dixon, for always making health and PE lessons come to life in such meaningful and engaging ways!

We’re Eggspecting at CES!
If you visit our school, you’ll find our student “chicken farmers” eagerly overseeing the countdown of our egg-hatching experiment using an incubator. The excitement is eggstraordinary as we anticipate the arrival of fluffy chicks just in time for Spring Break!
Stay tuned for some egg-citing updates!

Our kindergartners had a fun and educational day at Remington Nature Center in St. Joseph, MO.
