The CMS 7th Grade Scholar Bowl team 🔣traveled to St. Joseph today to compete in the MEC 7th Grade Tournament. After dropping their first match, they responded by winning their next two and earned the Consolation Championship🏆 Great work by our students and congratulations to Mrs. Rademacher on leading the team to a strong finish. CMS Night at Pizza Hut is Wednesday, February 18th.

Anytime after 5:00 PM, dine in or call in an order and mention CMS. A portion of your purchase will be donated back to our school to support students through incentive trips, special treats, and other student-focused activities.

We are excited to announce our 2026 Student ShowCase, a week-long celebration of the creativity and talent of our CMS students.

The Student ShowCase will take place February 23–27, 2026 in the CMS Commons. The exhibit will be open to the public Monday through Friday from 3:30–6:00 PM.

This event is open to all students. Each student may submit one piece of artwork for display. Teachers are also encouraged to submit student work that reflects strong effort and creativity.

The Student ShowCase provides an opportunity to celebrate student achievement and give students a platform to share their work with peers, families, and our community. We look forward to seeing the talent on display.

The Better You Club had a full and fun day at CMS.

Thank you to Suzi Beck for helping students make and decorate Valentine cookies for everyone to enjoy. Sophie Chambers also led a lesson on digital music, where students used an online platform to create their own unique tunes. The group wrapped up by placing positive messages on lockers throughout the building.

Great job to everyone involved for spreading kindness and creativity around CMS. Special shoutout to Mrs. Donoho, the Club Sponsor.

FCA hosted a Bowl-a-thon this past Saturday and it was a great time for our students. Lots of fun, friendly competition, and great memories made together.

CHS Freshman Enrollment 2026: Join us March 10 at 6 PM in the CHS Commons. 8th graders and parents/guardians—learn about course offerings and request classes for the 2026-27 school year. Please attend one date only. #FutureFreshmen #FamilyEngagement #CHS

Free sports physicals will be conducted at Chillicothe Middle School on Tuesday, February 24th beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Any student planning to participate in Chillicothe sports, marching band, and/or Special Olympics must have a completed physical form on file. These physicals will cover three seasons: Spring 2026, Fall 2026, and Winter 2026–27. Forms are available in the CMS office.

Parents and students must complete all required sections and return the forms to the school nurse no later than February 18th.

We strongly encourage all students to take advantage of this opportunity. Even if participation is uncertain right now, plans can change, and having a current physical on file keeps options open.

A special thank you to Mrs. Lebsack, our school nurse, and the team at Hedrick Medical Care for organizing this event. It requires significant preparation and we appreciate their continued support of our students and the Chillicothe community.

Due to illness among students and staff, we have decided to postpone tonight’s winter dance. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we want to be proactive in helping stop the spread of yuckiness. We will work to get a new date on the calendar once things calm down. Thank you for your understanding.

In Ms. Batye’s classroom this week, students put their learning into action. After studying different resources, they became engineers and designed their own windmills; each one built to wind up cups holding added weight. Hands-on learning, problem solving, and creativity all in one lesson. Nice job Ms. Batye and all her students! 💨

This time of year, it’s important to take care of yourself. Cold weather, being indoors more, and germs spreading can wear you down. Stay hydrated, get plenty of sleep, and remember to wash your hands or use hand sanitizer.

If you miss school but are feeling okay, do your best to keep up with assignments. When you return, communicate with your teachers and get caught up as soon as possible.

From pancakes to concrete 🥞➡️🧱 Students kicked off by making pancakes to learn one key lesson: mixing matters. Too much liquid or too little changes everything. Once they saw that, we connected it to concrete mixing and why the right ratios are critical. A fun, hands-on way to learn real-world concepts like consistency, workability, and following directions.
