Congratulations to CHS junior band member, alto-clarinetist Julietta Keller for making the 2021 Missouri All-State Band. This is the third year in a row that Julietta has been an all-state alto-clarinetist. What is even more amazing, this is the third year in a row that Julietta has earned a seat in the first chair. She is the best high school alto-clarinet player in the state for three straight years running! Over 1,000 students auditioned for the band this year.

Congratulations to Kaylee Emerson, Gracelyn Bentley, and Claire Walker, they are the R.A.K.E. award winners for the past few school days. They were identified doing the following -
Kaylee Emerson - Today in math class we played a game of tic-tac-toe. Kaylee won against her partner and received an award from the Hornet Cafe. Kaylee chose an item that she could share with her partner. What a nice gesture and I am sure made the other students day:)
Gracelyn Bentley - A classmate of Grace's was extremely nervous before giving a presentation. Grace told him he could do it and the student told me it gave him the confidence he needed. Way to go, Grace!
Claire Walker - Claire had a free hour because students in her ag class are gone to ag-contest. She offered to help in the office and the library. She has cleaned, put up a bulletin board, and helped Mrs. Prather re-shelve books in the library! Thanks, Claire!

She was identified doing the following - During the CELC Parent Involvement Day, Felicity voluntarily assisted with mopping up a mess in the restroom. It was quite a mammoth undertaking, however, she handled it with poise and a smile.

Another student could not find her money to go to the breakroom and was in a bit of a panic. Keenan pulled out his wallet and gave the girl his own money and told her she did not need to pay him back.

Congratulations to Emma Rule and Skylar Powers they are the R.A.K.E. award winners for the past few school days. They were identified doing the following -
Emma Rule -Emma goes the extra mile to make sure the PAC is picked up, lights are off, and stage is clean for the next class. She always helps without being asked.
Skylar Powers- A PE student accidentally hit a pickleball into the trash can during lunch, Skyler casually reached in and flipped it out. What a great person! Thank you, Skyler!

During Ind. Tech Math the students were using rulers and colored pencils....many fell or were on the floor. Caden took the time to pick up the rulers and colored pencils without being asked to do so.

Gracie Sims - Gracie stopped eating in the middle of lunch, hopped up from her table and hustled over to the office door to hold it open for a student in a wheelchair.
Allison Caselman - Another student was away from the classroom for the first part of our class time today, so Allison took it upon herself to write down the notes twice so that the other student wouldn't feel behind when she returned.

Congratulations to Brandon Kiser, he is the R.A.K.E. award winner for today. He was identified doing the following yesterday-
I had outside bus duty last week and a student fell. Brandon witnessed this and ran to the student and stayed with him until I could get help. I came back with help and Brandon went to get the student's vehicle so he could get home. Brandon even called the student later to check on him!
