Cutter Parkes held the door for several people this morning! What a nice way to start the day!
Cami Carpenter walked by Kyle the custodian after school and told him how much she appreciated him and everything he does for our school.
Kaden Cranmer noticed a student from the first hour had left their Chromebook in my classroom. He volunteered right away to go find the student to return it to him.
Josh Eckert let several cars out of the PAC parking lot after school, cars had been waiting several minutes to leave.
Carver Crawford stopped while on his way to class and helped the janitors put all the lunch tables down where they belong.
Josh Adams brought another student his missing Chromebook.
Cody Lehman got to the front door this morning, he held the door for all the kids that just got off his bus(And me:) )

Registration for the 2021-2022 school year will be as follows: Seniors - Tuesday, August 10th from 9-11 a.m. in the commons Juniors - Wednesday, August 11th from 9-11 a.m. in the commons Sophomores - Wednesday, August 11th from 1-3 p.m. in the commons Freshman Orientation (parents should plan to attend) - Tuesday, August 10th at 6 p.m. in the PAC (Performing Arts Center). *Students will be able to pick up their schedules, pay various fees (class fees, parking passes, dues, athletic participation fees, etc.), and purchase or pick up a yearbook.


A big "Thank You," to the students of the Chillicothe High School Student Council that participated in our annual Hornet Pride event today to make the school look the best it possibly can before students arrive back on August 24. Students put a fresh coat of paint on the hornet logos and hornet C's on the entry sidewalks and repainted all handicap parking spots, cleaned the front entry windows, polished up trophies and cleaned the trophy cases, and picked up any and all trash on the CHS grounds. It is great to see the youth of our community investing time and effort and showing their Hornet Pride to make their school be the best it can possibly can be.

"Meet the Hornets" for fall sports will be held on Tuesday, August 24th in the CHS commons/gym. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and a meal will be provided by the booster club (free to athletes, coaches, and booster club members). All fall sports athletes will be introduced in the gym starting at 7 p.m.
At 7:45 p.m., the football parking space auction will be held in the parking lot on the east side of the stadium .
CHS will also hold an open house from 6-7 p.m. that same night.


You know you are in good hands when a professional group names an award after one of our very own employees.
Congratulations to long time Chillicothe R-II School District school resource officer Mike Lewis. The Missouri School Resource Officers group has named the Lifetime Service Award after Mike Lewis for his long dedication of distinguished and honorable service as an SRO. This years Mike Lewis Lifetime Service Award went to Les Martin of the Jefferson City School District. Congratulations officer Lewis, well deserved!



The 11 a.m. stadium workout session for tomorrow has been cancelled. The next time this group will workout is next Tuesday. Don't forget your water bottle when you attend!

Congratulations to Skyler Powers and Lacey Terril, they are the R.A.K.E. Award winners for today. They were identified doing the following -
Skyler Powers - A student dropped pencils in the lunchroom and they went everywhere. Skyler jumped right up and started to help the girl pick them up.
Lacey Terril - after helping me pick up a few things in my room Lacey took it upon herself to find a broom and dustpan to clean up behind the items we had moved.

District baseball will try to play today at Raytown for the district title vs. Oak Grove at 5:00 p.m. Bus leaves at 1:30 p.m. Gates to the facility will open at 4:00 p.m. All digital tickets purchased for this game will be good for any rain date in the future if the game gets rained out, so keep your tickets.

It appears a pot of gold may be at girls district soccer. After a 45 minute rain delay, the games have started back up. Chillicothe will play at about 8:00 p.m. vs Savannah in district semifinal action.
