"Let Your Kind Shine” Kindness is everywhere at CES! The three recipients of this week's awards were nominated by a teacher or staff member for showing exceptional kindness. They received a sunshine bag and the opportunity to sit in the yellow sunshine chair over the next week to promote kindness throughout CES! Emma Head (Miss Snyder’s First Grade Class) Emma is a hard worker who always has a smile on her face. She helps out when she sees something that needs done, sometimes without being asked. Way to go, Emma! Jane Williams (Miss Hall’s Second Grade Class) Jane is always willing to help others that need it! She is up for any extra task that is helpful and is a wonderful friend to everyone! Elyjah Yeomans (Mrs. Dodson’s Fourth Grade Class) Elyjah is always helping out other friends! He is so inclusive of his classmates, as well as other students that may not be included in a game/activity. When someone drops something or needs help knowing what to do next, he always steps in and helps in a kind and calm manner. Mrs. Dodson’s class is so glad to have someone like Elyjah in our room!

Our Student Leadership Team partnered with The Salvation Army for the annual Silver Tree Drive, supporting seniors in our local community. Thanks to the generosity of our CES families, we collected blankets, gloves, pens, lotions, and other comfort items to brighten the season for local seniors.

This week, we celebrated one of our counselors with a retirement reception. Mrs. Inger has served our district for 16.5 years, and her dedication and care have made a lasting impact on our students and staff. She will be greatly missed. We wish Mrs. Young the best in her retirement!

These 3rd graders were having some fun with sequencing. When they had the short story in the correct order a mystery word was revealed. They recorded their answer by drawing the mystery word. Learning is such a blast!
