Congratulations to our incredible Special Olympics athletes! 🎉
Today, our students traveled to Carrollton to compete in a variety of track and field events—and they didn’t come home empty-handed! They brought back an impressive collection of medals and, more importantly, represented our school with pride, determination, and sportsmanship.
It was the perfect day for competition, and we couldn’t be prouder of their achievements. Way to go, CES athletes! 🏅👏

Dear CES Families,
To help keep our CES families up to date on grade-level learning and classroom routines, our wonderful teachers have created short videos highlighting what’s happening at each grade level.
In the past, we held “Curriculum Nights” at school. However, we understand how busy family schedules can be. This year, our amazing classroom teachers and teams are bringing the curriculum highlights directly to you through these videos.
As always, if you have any questions about your child’s progress or classroom procedures, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher through the CR2 app or by email. If you have not signed up to attend 1st Quarter Parent-Teacher Conferences, please be sure to do so using the Signup.com link your child’s teacher has shared. We look forward to seeing everyone at conferences and working together to ensure the very best learning experience for all of our Hornets!
Together, we will continue building a positive and supportive learning experience for all of our Hornets!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Cox

Fire Safety Week at CES!
Today, our local firefighters visited CES to teach students important lessons about fire safety at home.
👨🚒 CES Families:
• If you need a smoke detector, please contact the Chillicothe Fire Department at 660-646-2139.
• Be sure to talk with your family and choose a safe meeting spot outside your home in case of an emergency.
• 🔋 Have you changed your smoke detector batteries lately? They should be replaced twice a year to keep your family safe.
Let’s all work together to protect our homes and loved ones! ❤️🔥🏠

Let Your Kind Shine”
Kindness is everywhere at CES! The three recipients of this week's awards were nominated by a teacher or staff member for showing exceptional kindness. They received a sunshine bag and the opportunity to sit in the yellow sunshine chair over the next week to promote kindness throughout CES!
Noah Conejo (Miss Book’s 1st grade)
Noah lights up the first grade hallway with his smile every morning. He always has a positive attitude and makes everyone around him feel welcomed. Noah radiates kindness with everything that he does.
Terrell Johnson (Ms. Davis - 3rd Grade)
Terrell stepped up in many ways to help my class on Friday. Terrell was finished with his work, and volunteered to help another student take a break from class. He walked around CES with this student during their break, and when they came back, they both had smiles. Terrell is always a kind, supportive, and empathetic friend. I'm so proud of him!
Jack Ream (Mrs. Dodson - 4th Grade)
Jack is always offering to help out his fellow classmates and myself as a teacher. He is extremely kind to all and very supportive of his classmates when we are in small group. We are proud to have Jack in our classroom!

🖤Buzz Buddies at CES ❤️
Buzz Buddies is a cross-grade partnership program at CES where an upper grade class pairs with a lower grade class. These partnerships create meaningful opportunities for collaboration—whether it’s reading, writing, performing plays, tackling science projects, taking brain breaks, or engaging in other activities together.
Today, Miss Davis’ 3rd graders teamed up with Mrs. Ewbank’s kindergarteners to make spirit bracelets in celebration of Homecoming

CES Student Leadership Election
Our 5th Grade Wings class, under the direction of Mrs. Chambers, organized the CES Student Leadership Team election. Each of our 37 classrooms nominated one representative for their grade level, and candidates presented speeches to their peers explaining why they would make strong leaders.
This week, students cast their votes, and the results will be announced soon. We have so many student leaders at CES and are so proud of all of the candidates!

What a great day to be a Hornet! ❤️
This morning, the CHS Leadership Class hosted an incredible K–5 pep rally filled with school spirit and special guests—including the CHS Cheerleaders, the Marching Hornets, and of course, our favorite mascot, Buzz!
Congratulations to our 2nd and 5th graders for taking home the spirit stick this year—they brought the energy! 🎉
A huge thank-you to our amazing PTO volunteers and the CMS Student Council for helping us walk students to the stadium and keeping everything running smoothly.
