Chillicothe High School Student Named as National Merit Scholarship Finalist
Chillicothe, Missouri – The National Merit Scholarship Program announced that William A. Kieffer, a high school senior at Chillicothe High School, has been named as a National Merit Scholarship Finalist.
The National Merit Scholarship Program recognizes students with high academic performance as well as qualifying PSAT/NMSQT and SAT/ACT scores. Kieffer has been recognized in the top 15,000 students in the nation based on his abilities, skills, and accomplishments. Approximately 7,500 finalists will be selected to receive a Merit Scholarship in late March through early June.
“Will is an exemplary student who has excelled in a rigorous course schedule. Will possesses an intellectual curiosity and desire to learn that is typically not found in high-school students. In addition to his academic accolades, Will is an exemplary role model and is an honest, caring member of our community,” said Dr. Jill Watkins, Chillicothe High School Assistant Principal.
Kieffer has been recognized by the Missouri Higher Education Academic Scholarship Program as a Bright Flight Scholar. At Chillicothe High School, Kieffer has been an Academic Letter recipient for three consecutive years and has earned induction into the National Honor Society. Kieffer has also been elected to the Senior Executive Committee, Junior Executive Committee, and as National Honor Society Treasurer. In addition, he is active in FBLA, CHS Drama Club, and Student Council.
