The Chillicothe R-II School District continues to monitor the spread of the COVID-19 virus. After consultation with neighboring school districts, the Chillicothe R-II School District will extend its closures until Friday, April 24, with the hopes of having students return on Monday, April 27. District officials will continue to monitor and evaluate the situation so we can lift our closure as soon as it is safe for everyone.
The meal program will continue in its current form through April 24. Those interested in signing up for meals, should visit the Chillicothe R-II website or call 660-646-4566. Those already signed up for the program will continue to receive their meals.
Chillicothe R-II will continue to the Flexible Learning Plans that were implemented on March 17. If you have questions about the educational offerings, please reach out to your children’s teachers via email.
For our families whose children receive special education services: If your child’s annual IEP meeting was to be held between March 17th and April 24th, your child’s case manager will contact you soon to schedule this meeting via phone conference call or video conference.

FREE MEAL SERVICE DURING SCHOOL CLOSURE
The Chillicothe R-II School District, community volunteers and the Department of Health and Senior Services will be providing free meals during the COVID-19 school closure. Meals will be served starting Wednesday, March 18th. The current day's lunch and the next day's breakfast will be prepared daily Monday-Friday and are available to any person 18 years and under residing in the Chillicothe R-II School District. Two serving options will be available to families, 1.) Meals may be picked up at either Chillicothe Middle School or Field Elementary School. 2.)Meals may also be delivered to several locations (TBA) throughout the community for those without transportation.

These amazing Dewey Impact students went to the Veterans Home and assisted with Bingo. They were patient, kind, responsible and great communicators! We participated in a final salute and the amount of respect they showed the Veteran and his family was amazing. So proud! #dewey45
Dewey Impact: Youth Connecting With Their Community, Foster Adopt Connect group, presented a check to Mrs. Churan this morning for $437.55. The money was raised by selling sucker bouquets for Valentine’s Day. #dewey45

Mrs. Gott’s and Mrs. Howe’s classes met with their PIE Friday. They learned about Inventor Tesla, made connections to their study on energy, and enjoyed a demonstration that lit a light bulb with no connections or wires. Dewey Facebook has the video. #dewey45
So proud of the children at Dewey. A couple new Dewey Impact projects have begun by students leading the pack. Landry will be doing a PSA on KCHI so she called to set up the recording date and time .
