Sophie Chambers with her WINGS class during Spanish Immersion Week

This week, learning truly came to life as Mrs. Chambers, in partnership with Maggie Moore from the Lillian DesMaries Youth Library, hosted Spanish Immersion Days for students.

During this exciting experience, students were fully immersed in the Spanish language—listening to stories, engaging in conversations, and building foundational Spanish vocabulary. The energy in the room was contagious as students leaned into the challenge, practiced new words and phrases, and supported one another along the way.

One of the most rewarding highlights was seeing students begin speaking Spanish with growing confidence. From curious first attempts to proud moments of success, Spanish Immersion Days created meaningful opportunities for students to learn in a hands-on, engaging way.

Thank you to Mrs. Chambers and Maggie Moore for creating a learning experience that helped students connect with language and culture in such an authentic, memorable way.
