Sub Spotlight - Janan Rowley

SUBSTITUTE SPOTLIGHT

Mrs. Janan Rowley is one of our awesome substitute teachers here at Chillicothe R-II Schools! She has subbed for one year in all buildings throughout the district.

Janan explains that she enjoys being a substitute teacher because of the relationships she’s been able to build with the people she works with. “I love getting to know the staff and the kids - especially in 3rd-5th grade. I absolutely love being a substitute teacher and enjoy all the kids!”

She says that she would tell anyone interested in substitute teaching to try it. “Make sure you ask questions if you aren’t sure what to do,” Janan advised. She added that she has learned how to be successful as a substitute teacher by asking questions and observing R-II staff.

Janan and her husband, Robert, have been married for 21 years and live in Chillicothe. They have three adult children: Kyra (Kevin) Haney, Tyler (Melanie) Jordan and Rylee (Lisa) Arnold, They also have three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Janan’s a Milan High School graduate and has also graduated from Metropolitan Community College and DeVry University in Kansas City, MO.

When she’s not subbing, Janan enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, boating on their pontoon, fishing and sewing, especially quilts.
