The Chillicothe R-II School District has been awarded a grant from the MU Partnership for Educational Renewal (MPER), which will be used to purchase about $5,000 worth of new science equipment.

Specifically, the MPER grant, in the amount of $4,999 will pay for a variety of science-related tools and materials including new microscopes, scientific rock kits, beakers, balance scales, wall charts and test tubes. The equipment will be used at the middle school, high school and at the Grand River Technical School.

“We are excited to have been awarded this grant and look forward to purchasing these supplies for our students to use in the classroom,” Superintendent Dan Wiebers said.
