Press Release in Letterhead

As the district proceeds during this difficult time dealing with COVID-19, we continue to place the highest priority on the health of our students. To accomplish this, Chillicothe R-II has worked and will continue working with the Livingston County Health Department relying on data to ensure current procedures and protocols are effective. To this end, effective immediately, Chillicothe R-II will implement the following protocol concerning contact tracing and the removal of students from instruction:

Upon being notified of a positive case, Chillicothe R-II staff will contact trace the positive student. District personnel will notify parents/guardians about the possible exposure and ask parents/guardians to monitor their student(s) health for symptoms of illness. If these students, or any students exhibit symptoms of illness, please keep them at home. Otherwise, the students identified as possible contacts may continue to attend school and participate in all activities as long as they remain symptom free. Parents/guardians will continue to have the choice to remove their child from instruction if they are believed to have been in contact with a positive case. Chillicothe will continue to offer homebound services to these students with proper documentation (i.e. Health Department Order or Physician’s Order).

Be assured that our cleaning and other illness prevention protocols will remain in place. We will continue to look at data and work with the Livingston County Health Department to help ensure the health of our students and staff.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact any building administrator and/or Dan Wiebers at the Chillicothe R-II Administrative Offices.
