Becca Gilliland

The Chillicothe R-II School District is proud to recognize Brook Kreatz and Becca Gilliland as the newest graduates of the Teacher Academy.

Offered through Missouri’s Regional Professional Development Centers (RPDC) as part of the Missouri Teacher Development System (MTDS), the Teacher Academy is a prestigious, year-long cohort designed for mid-career educators who are committed to strengthening their instructional practice and expanding their impact in the classroom.

Throughout the program, Brook and Becca participated in intensive professional learning, collaboration, and mentorship focused on high-yield instructional strategies, student engagement, and cognitive rigor. Their work also included learning alongside noted national expert John Antonetti, whose guidance helped support deep reflection and growth in instructional planning and student-centered learning.

As a culminating component, both educators completed action research projects, using data and classroom evidence to evaluate strategies and improve student learning outcomes. Their dedication to this rigorous process reflects the strong commitment our staff brings to continuous improvement and student success.

We congratulate Brook and Becca on this outstanding achievement and appreciate the expertise, energy, and excellence they bring to Chillicothe classrooms every day.
