Chillicothe Schools is proud to recognize two outstanding educators whose daily work makes a lasting difference for students—especially those who need extra support, encouragement, and someone firmly in their corner.
Diana Holcer: Helping Students Find Their Way to Graduation
Diana Holcer-Diana has a heart and passion for students who need the most care and attention from school personnel. She truly understands that learning does not look the same for every student—and she has never wavered in her belief that all students deserve the opportunity to reach graduation, regardless of life circumstances.
Diana meets students where they are and helps move them forward toward the ultimate goal: earning their diploma. In collaboration with CHS administrators, counselors, and teachers, she serves as an essential educational team member for each of her students. She also independently organizes digital learning plans, creating clear visuals that help students understand their options and see a realistic path ahead.
Much of Diana’s work happens quietly and often “under the radar,” but its impact is significant. Her efforts have contributed to our overall graduation rate and helped turn potential dropouts into proud CHS graduates—one student at a time.
Jenny Hill: Making Literacy a Celebration and a Mission
Mrs. Jenny Hill’s passion for literacy is contagious. She doesn’t just teach reading—she celebrates it. That enthusiasm is especially evident through her “Goal Getters” initiative, where the hard work of closing literacy gaps becomes a reason for school-wide recognition and pride.
Mrs. Hill has a unique gift for lifting students up the moment they meet a challenge, ensuring they see themselves as capable, growing readers. Four years ago, she took foundational steps to help reimagine reading practices in the school. With a deep commitment to ensuring every child receives explicit reading instruction, she spearheaded staff book studies and helped align practices with proven literacy strategies.
Her purpose is clear: no student should fall through the cracks. In the demanding world of intervention, Mrs. Hill remains a steady beacon of optimism. She approaches every student’s “gap” not as a deficit, but as an opportunity for growth. Her classroom is a safe, encouraging space where students feel confident enough to take risks—and succeed.
Thank You for Making a Difference
