Kap$ 4 Kids Logo

Thanks to a program sponsored by Hometown Pharmacy in Chillicothe, the Chillicothe R-II School District has a chance to receive additional funds for its classrooms.

The program, “Kap$ -4-Kids,” is designed to help schools raise money through the collection and redemption of specifically marked “Kap$” with the Hometown Pharmacy logo from its prescription bottles.

According to Hometown Pharmacy representatives, Chillicothe R-II schools will earn 25 cents for each “Kap” submitted and collected. There will be four submission periods per year, giving R-II schools the opportunity to earn up to $2,500 per period.

Mr. Dan Wiebers, Superintendent of Chillicothe R-II explained that buckets with the Kap$-4-Kids logo on them will be soon distributed to the schools and parents are encouraged to send their Hometown Pharmacy “Kap$” with their students when they go to school. Community members can also get involved in the effort and drop off their “Kap$” at the District administrative office at 2005 Washington Street in Chillicothe. All “Kap$” submitted to the Kap$-4-Kids program will be recycled.

Mr. Wiebers said he was excited about the program and grateful for Hometown Pharmacy’s support. “Our District is very fortunate to be located in a community that continually strives to improve the educational opportunities for our kids.”
