3/26 Final Senior Class Meeting—4th hour

Announcement orders will be handed out after the meeting.
You must pay balances due to Herff-Jones in order to pick up your announcements. 4/15-4/17 REGISTER YOUR PROM DATE WITH MRS. WHITESIDE IN ROOM B-26 BY APRIL 17. 4/17 Class Poem submissions to Mrs. Whiteside in class or before school ANNOUNCEMENTS SHOULD BE MAILED AROUND THIS TIME 4/17 Pick up two reserved seating tickets for the Grand March from Mrs. Whiteside.
(Your tickets will be given only to you--please do not send another student to pick up your tickets.) 4/17 Senior Rotary Luncheon—Seniors will take busses to Litton Center to be guests of the local
Rotary organization. Please dress nicely….no jeans or caps.
Students will return to school at 1 p.m. for remainder of day. 4/18 Prom @ CHS
Grand March 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center
Dance 8 p.m. in the CHS Gymnasium 4/3-4/30 1. Seniors pay $5 to Mrs. Whiteside or Lily Pyrtle no later than Friday if you are attending the
Senior Breakfast on May 8. This will be held at the Chillicothe United Methodist Church and will be
served by the Senior mothers. The breakfast begins at 9:30 a.m. and is the beginning activity of
Senior Day. Attendance will be taken at the breakfast. 2. If you choose to attend the senior/faculty bowling at Fast Lane from 4:30-6:30, please pay Mrs.
Whiteside ($7 to include shoe rental; $5 for bowling only) by April 30. You will receive a ticket to
admit you to the bowling event. You MUST pay in advance. We will use all lanes, and you will be
allowed to participate only if you have the ticket I issue you in advance. 3. If you will eat dinner at the bowling alley (pizza and taco buffet), please pay $5 to Mrs. Whiteside.
You will be issued a ticket for this as well. All of the Senior Day money must be paid by April 30 so
that reservations can be made. We encourage you to attend, but if you choose not to attend the evening events, it would be
courteous to tell Mrs.Whiteside. 4/23 Senior Spokesperson Tryouts 7 p.m. in Room B-26. 5/6 See Mrs. Roberts in the principal’s office on Wednesday to obtain your number for the
graduation march. THIS IS IMPORTANT. Do not lose this number. At the same time, you will be
given material regarding Baccalaureate rehearsal, marching instructions, Commencement rehearsal, etc. Read this carefully before Thursday, May 14. Rental fee of $22.00 for cap and gown must be
paid in the office when you pick up your number. Please have correct amount or write check to
Chillicothe High School. Again, that’s on Wednesday, May 6. You must also pay any fees and/or
fines you owe the school at this time. 5/7 During your lunch come to the English office—next to room B-26—to check out your cap and
gown. Try it on immediately and notify Mrs. Whiteside of any concerns with your cap and gown.
Take them home and press (on warm setting) the gown so it is ready for Baccalaureate rehearsal
on May 14. You MUST have your dress clothes and cap and gown for this
MANDATORY rehearsal. We will also be taking a class portrait at the rehearsal. 5/8 SENIOR DAY
1. SENIOR BREAKFAST--9:30 A.M. at the Chillicothe United Methodist
Church. Wear school clothes. NO caps. Breakfast is being served by Senior mothers. No place cards; sit with friends.

Lily Pyrtle, president of the Chillicothe High School senior executive committee, makes a few brief comments during the annual Senior Breakfast held
Friday morning, May 8, 2009, at the United Methodist
Church. The event was presented by the Senior Moms and featured, among other things, a video showing various school events and activities as well as individual pictures of the graduating seniors.
2. SENIOR ASSEMBLY a. 12:00 P.M.--All seniors must attend. Meet in the performing arts center. Sit in the seats in the
center section, filling from front to back. BE ON TIME--BE DRESSED UP! Instructions will be given
for your entrance into the assembly. Rehearsal of the candle lighting ceremony will be held. b. 12:30--SENIOR AWARDS--Senior parents are invited to attend. They may sit in the side sections
or in the back as directed by the ushers. c. 2:30 P.M.--FAREWELL--Poem, Hat & Garter, Handing down of class offices. d. SENIOR BOWLING/SUPPER 4:30 P.M. at Fast Lane—Faculty and seniors will bowl 2 games.
Seniors not wanting to bowl may attend and just “hang out.” Taco Buffet and Pizza will be served.
(Be sure to bring your tickets for bowling and supper.) 5/14 Baccalaureate rehearsal in the performing arts center at 12:00 p.m.
ALL GRADUATES MUST ATTEND THIS REHEARSAL! WORK IS NOT AN EXCUSE TO MISS!!!
Wear your cap and gown as well as the clothes you will be wearing for the ceremonies. GUYS--Wear white dress shirts (not blue—or any other color) and ties, dress pants (preferably dark
ones), dark socks, and dress shoes (do not wear boots or athletic shoes). GIRLS--Wear dresses, hose (a nude color or very sheer colored hose) and dark shoes (either black,
brown, or navy). Do not wear sandals. Shoes must be closed-toe. You will be practicing coming
down the aisles, so you need to wear the shoes that you will be wearing the afternoon of
Baccalaureate. ***Bailey’s Studio will take a class picture at 12:15--before our rehearsal, so please be very attentive
to your appearance. Gowns will need to be pressed before Baccalaureate. You can do them yourself with a low setting
on the iron—or you can have dry cleaners press them. 5/14 BACCALAUREATE--7 P.M.--Performing Arts Center
Seniors need to be in the commons by 6:30 P.M. and in line by 6:40 Do not wear cap and gown to
the school. Carry them--gown on a hanger. 5/15 COMMENCEMENT REHEARSAL--9:00 A.M.
NO GRADUATING SENIOR WILL BE EXCUSED. BE ON TIME!
REARRANGE JOB AND PERSONAL SCHEDULES!
We will not begin practice until all are present!
Rehearsal will be in the gymnasium--Park in the PAC parking lot.
Following rehearsal, you are responsible for painting your parking block white--you must provide the
paint. If you do not paint your block, you will not receive your diploma until this is taken care of. Bailey Studio will take pictures of individual CHS graduates in cap and gown at their studio from 11
a.m.-5 p.m. They will give you a free 5X7 of this photo. You do not have to call the studio for an
appointment. Just go to the studio at 425 Cherry Street during the day. Do not wear your cap and
gown—take your gown on a hanger. 5/17 COMMENCEMENT ‘09--3:00 P.M.
2:30 P.M.-BE IN BAND ROOM AT CHS
2:40 P.M.-BE IN LINE. BRING PLASTIC BAG FOR CAP AND GOWN. NOTE: ALL FINES MUST BE PAID BY 5/9!
NO MONEY CAN BE TAKEN AT COMMENCEMENT ON 5/17.
Money left in your lunch account at the end of the year will be transferred to a younger sibling’s
account. If you don’t have a younger sibling, the money will be sent to you in the form of a check
from central office. It might be best to deplete your account before May
15.
