Although FFA was created in 1928 as Future Farmers of America, the name was changed in 1988 to represent the growing diversity of agriculture. We are now the National FFA Organization. FFA is a diverse organization, operating in rural, urban and suburban schools. Students aged 12-21 enrolled in agricultural education programs are eligible for membership. FFA membership in 2007 was 500,823 with 7,358 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. For more FFA statistics, click here!
