This Month's Newsletter from Mrs. Rebecca Lewis... May 4, 2009 Dear Parents, Attached you will find the second Book-It coupon. Please enjoy the pizza. Remember reading and spending time with your child is the best way to spend your time. It is an investment you will never regret. Tuesday, May 5, 4:00-6:00p.m., get ready for PAT’s “Food, Fun, & Fitness Festival!” This excitement will take place at Jenkins Expo Center, at the new fairgrounds. We will be taking a field trip with our Partners in Education (A.M.=City Hall, P.M.=Livingston County Library) to Danner Park. Wednesday, May 13 will be the afternoon trip and Thursday, May 14 will be the morning trip. Please have your child wear old clothes and old shoes. Sometimes the black from the ground-up tires leaves marks on clothes, so do make sure they are for play. Also, if it is cool please send a jacket or if it is sunny have your child bring a cap, and you might put some sunscreen on him/her. It should be a fun day!! I thought I would review the skills I have introduced to your children. Colors, shapes, numbers (counting to 50, writing and recognizing to 10), and the alphabet (singing the ABC’s, recognizing at least the letters in their own name, and the beginning sounds of some words). Other skills that have been introduced are: boy/girl, holding a pencil correctly, please/thank you, book handling skills, saying first & last name & age, recognizing & writing first name, sorting, seasons, zip/button coats, Pledge of Allegiance, ABAB patterns, position words (over, under, etc.), body parts, clapping syllables, opposites, rhyming words, days of the week, and the five senses. Please remember these skills have only been introduced. Your child will have more exposure to each of these skills next year in kindergarten. Tell your mom you love her!!!!!!!!!!!! Dates to remember:
Please check the calendar for important events! Have a great week! Close This Window |
