Library Media Center, First to Know Club

We have a beautiful library. Our librarian is Mrs. Betty Sue Radcliff. Stop by and visit us any time. Our First to Know Book Club is held at the Central School Library Media Center on Thursdays: September and October  from 3:15-4:15 p.m. Come join us for great books, prizes, snacks, activities, and lots of fun! Sponsors are various teacher and parents, spear-headed by Mrs. Radcliff. Please contact Mrs. Radcliff, Central Library Media Specialist, in order for your child to participate. Thank you!

Mini-Choraliers

Mr. Dan Venner organizes a group of 4th and 5th grade students each year.perform as "Mini- Choraliers." The Choraliers are a popular group of high school students who sing and dance, and our Mini-Choraliers are a smaller version! Try-outs are held each new school year, and students practice twice a week after school in the fall for performances during December.

YMCA After School Club

The After School Club is a program for children in grades K-6 offered locally by the Chillicothe RII School District in collaboration with the Grand River Area Family YMCA. It is a safe, well supervised program offering games, crafts, snacks, stories, homework time, and field trips for children during the after-school hours (3:00 - 6:00 p.m.) when parents cannot be home. The After School Club is held at Central School.

After School Reading Tutoring

This program provides intervention in reading for approximately 23 students this year from 3:15-4:30 (Tuesday/Thursday), November through the end of March/beginning of April.
Students work in small groups to recieve reading instruction tailored for their individual reading needs.  Students are leveled using Fountas/Pinnell or DRA reading assessments and receive instruction according to those levels.  Students are challenged to increase reading comprehension skills and vocabulary knowlege.
