GENERAL
INFORMATION
CACE offers students the opportunity to learn in a small, personal
setting while addressing behavioral and social emotional concerns
through counseling services, career transition services, academic
support, and enhanced individualized instruction. Students are
prepared for the world of work and/or continuing education.
COURSE
OFFERINGS
Academic courses in the four core subject areas are offered at all
levels (9th-12th grade). Testing for Missouri mandated tests is
provided in cooperation with the home school. Electives will be
available for students as core criteria are met. Student enrollments are taken
quarterly. Grades/credits will be awarded quarterly. A daily academic class schedule
is provided on this web site, as well as in the handbook.
The CACE program operates on a block schedule. A and B day calendars will be posted at the CACE facility so that students are aware of their daily routine. Academics as well as personal and social growth are the foundation of the CACE program. Students are awarded credit on a semester basis. Students may obtain 4.5 credits per semester for a total of 9 credits per year.
*Contact the CACE administrator with questions about graduation and academic credits.
Parents and students will be regularly informed of their academic progress through home/school communication. A
monthly newsletter will be sent to parents as well as mid quarter, quarter and semester grade reports. A formal parent/teacher conference will be held at the end of the first quarter.
The district school calendar is also available in the appendix
section of the handbook or on the school
district's web site. Students will complete most assignments at school. Work will be supervised by the CACE staff. The CACE staff will use a uniform grading scale (see grading scale
section in the handbook) to assign letter grades each grading period. The grades will be forwarded to the cooperating schools to be a part of the student’s permanent transcript and school records.
Credit Recovery
is held at the Chillicothe Alternative Center for Education. Credit Recovery will be held on:

Credit Recovery is a program to provide an opportunity for students who have failed a course to complete the competencies needed to pass the course and recover the credit. The program is individualized and is for the motivated student who needs minimal
supervision. The Credit Recovery Program is open to all participating students in the consortium for the Chillicothe Alternative Center for Education.
